MALTA ANZAC WAR MEMORIAL COMMITTEE OF SOUTH AUSTRALIA
As chairman of the MALTA ANZAC WAR MEMORIAL COMMITTEE OF SOUTH AUSTRALIA I would like to personally thank each and every member of the committee and the Maltese Community of South Australia for their valuable contribution to make the ANZAC Dinner Dance held at the Festival Function Centre on Saturday 2 April 2011 a big success.
All proceeds raised by the committee will be sent directly to Malta to assist in the building of the AMZAC War Memorial at Argotti Gardens, Floriana.
Rear Admiral Ken Doolan, the Federal President of the RSL Australia wrote to the committee thus The RSL is delighted to be involved in this quest through our South Australian Sub Branch and more particularly the Malta RSL Sub Branch of South Australia. Thank you for your kind and generous welcome and splendid hospitality.”
I concur with Mr Doolan in congratulating Mr Charles Farrugia and Mr John Mangion President and Vice President of the RSL Maltese Sub-branch and members of the ANZAC War Memorial Committee of SA for their valuable contribution and unselfish support in assisting in the organisation of this wonderful event to raise funds for the building of the monument.
His Excellency the Governor Rear Admiral Kevin Scarce, who was present at the function, thanks the committee for giving him the opportunity to share such a beautiful occasion with the Maltese community and for this worthy cause.
He said that every member of the committee and the Maltese Community of South Australia should be proud of their valuable contribution to make the ANZAC Dinner extra special and to assist in the building of an ANZAC monument in MALTA.
